I must say, I did rather well on my diet this weekend.
I have come to the realization that my weakness is NOT eating at restaurants, but it's dinners at my parents house.
Friday after work we left for the lakehouse with Hampton and T in tow.
Got to the lakehouse and chatted for a bit and headed to bed. It's tough traveling with a child! All the stuff you have to bring. How the heck are we ever gonna do with with more than one kiddo!?!?!
Tucker slept 12 hours (9pm-9am) Friday night. Getting up at 6am for his breakfast of course, then back to bed for another 3 hours. That was nice!
He is consistently sleeping 8 hours now and I couldn't be more happy about that!
He's such a good little guy.
Like I've said, I'm sure my next one will be hell on wheels.
Anyway, Saturday we got up and hung around the lakehouse while S worked on wiring the shed. For lunch we headed to the point, a small restaurant out by the lake.
I ordered chicken lemon stir fry. It was grilled chicken with vegetables served on a bed of rice. I asked for no rice, double veggies. It was really good.
Of course it was served with 2 ginormous pieces of garlic bread, which I immediately asked S to take off my plate so I wouldn't be tempted with them.
So I did really well with that.
After lunch we loaded up and made the drive back home. Stopped by my sister's house to hang out and see the new backseat they got to put on the side by side for the kids.
S and I are pretty much sold on the Artic Cat Prowler.
The same bike my sister has.
It's a bad machine and I'm betting we will have one by the end of 2010.
Heck, we'll need a family bike soon enough!
After leaving my sisters house we headed home and showered and got dressed and met Billy and Brodie at On the Border for dinner.
Restaurant number 2 for the weekend.
S loooooves chips and hot sauce, so I didn't dare ask them NOT to bring any out.
It was tough, but I didn't give into them. I had not a one chip.
I ordered 1 Bud Light and a water.
For dinner I had the Border Smart Chicken Salsa Fresca. Grilled chicken breast topped with salsa and pico on a bed of brown rice and grilled veggies.
Total dinner calories - 610 (including Bud Light).
Not too shabby for a Mexican restaurant.
And it was good!
After dinner me, T, S, Billy and Brodie went back to our house and played a little Wii bowling.
Then to bed.
Sunday we loaded T up and went to Target where I got T a few cute long sleeved onesies for $3 a piece, they were on sale, and I'm a bargain shopper.
We also bought formula and a scale. Yes, a scale. The kind that tells you just how fat you are. That kind. The evil kind.
For the Cowboy game we headed to my parents house to check out all their newness.
They have just had the "remodel bug" lately and have upgraded a ton of stuff!
My dad was cooking beer can chicken (one of my faves... I can never resist the skin!)
My mom made pasta and salad.
For dessert (there is ALWAYS dessert at my parents house) my sister made this low fat Pear Crisp thing. Wait, I think those were peaches though... did you change the recipe up Wen?
Anyway, if you are familiar with The Pioneer Woman and her cooking you know I am TOTALLY lying when I say low fat.
There was nothing low fat about this thing!
It was ooey and gooey in all the right places. It had a full stick of butter, a couple of cups of sugar, pure maple syrup and heavy whipping cream in it.
AKA a dieters NIGHTMARE! THANKS WEN!
It was, however, very delicious. (I only had a little, I swear)
Also for dessert my mom made chocolate chip cookies.
Man, this place was a PRISON! Ordinarily I'd munch on a few chocolate chip cookies throughout the night not realizing how many I'd had and it would have probably ended up being 4 or 5. That was then. I only had that little bit of Wendi's dessert and no cookies. Though I'm sure that little bit I DID have would have been the same as me having 6 or 7 of them, but I digress.
Point is, I cheated a little on Sunday.
I didn't stick to just the white meat (I am a SUCKER for the dark meat, it is so much jucier!) Thats what she said.
But seriously.
I had a salad, with light Ranch.
Can I express to you how much I LOATHE light Ranch!?!?! It is disgusting! It totally RUINS the salad. I'd rather go outside to the backyard and rub dog turds all over my face than eat Light Ranch.
Okay, maybe I don't hate it THAT much, but Light Ranch and I totally don't get along.
I, however, ate it anyway.
Why? Because I got this way by NOT eating light ranch. By smothering my salads in full fat dressings. Well not only that, but that didn't help any.
Anyway, I had a little pasta, maybe 1/2 a cup. I mostly picked out the cherry tomatoes, carrots and broccoli in it and ate that.
So I didn't do too bad on Sunday.
Before eating I did get on the scale.
I lost 2 lbs last week, so that's good.
My goal is a MINIMUM of 2 lbs a week. If I keep that up I'll be at my goal of a 60 lb. weight loss by June 5th, my birthday!
That would be awesome! Happy birthday to me!!!! And DEFINITELY Happy Anniversary to my husband!!! (Our anniversary is 2 days after my birthday).
PLUS, we've been in talks with everyone about a possible trip to Cancun around that time for my parents 30th anniversary (a day before our anniversary).
Yeah, we've got a lot of important dates in June!
Here's to 58 more to go.... wow, that's a little depressing!
